“Sumo Bots” – 2 days of holiday activities for kids

‘Sumo bots’ are compact, powerful, and agile robots designed for sumo wrestling-inspired competitions. This program focuses on the fundamentals of robotics and coding where they will start learning from ultrasonic sensor, actuators for movement and micro-controller (e.g., Arduino) as the brain. Students create algorithms for navigation, obstacle detection, and opponent tracking. Powered by rechargeable batteries, competitions occur in arenas with defined boundaries and marked surfaces for sensor navigation. Specific rules dictate bot specifications, and matches, usually time-limited, reward the bot that pushes the opponent out or disables it. Successful strategies involve speed, agility, and sensor-based decision-making.

After completing the first course your child can come back to learn more robotics and coding. Our robotics and coding holiday activities for kids are available with 6 progressive levels where your child builds on the knowledge level by level. With each progressive level, students add more features to their robot and build on knowledge from their previous learnings.

This is a perfect opportunity for kids who are just starting with robotics and coding and also for the students with prior experience, our holiday activities are going to add value to your previous learning with more complex and advanced robotics and coding.

Robotic Kits for Holiday Activities for Kids

Level 2
Coding Courses for Kids
Level 4-1

We provide robotics kits for our robotics and coding holiday activities for kids. Each student gets his/her own robot, they make it, code it and take it home. The robotic kit includes all the components including sensors, development board (Arduino), sensor shield, motor driving board, motors and other parts to make a fully functional robot. Students will learn each component, put them together, learn to code and solve multiple problem statements.

We have more projects for your child!

Path Finding Robot

Problem Statement: In this holiday program give your child another robotics program statement. Imagine a major water pipe in your city is experiencing a blockage causing a shortage of water for the residents. Engineers want to design and code a robot to autonomously go inside the pipe and identify the location of the blockage. This would reduce the time and cost of repair.

Soccer Bot

Problem Statement: Have you played soccer in video games before? You can move and control players around using a joystick. What about building a robot controlled by a wireless remote/joystick. Your child will learn joysticks controls, analog values and Bluetooth communication and make the robot play a soccer match. There will be a soccer match and the team with the highest number of goals will be the winner.

The emergency bot

Problem Statement: Our security department uses many robots for dangerous tasks. How about building your own robot for the same? In this holiday program, your child will build and code a robot to find and pick up any suspicious object and move it to a safe location. They can be controlled via a wireless remote or can be coded to finish the task autonomously.

Maze Solving Robot

Problem Statement: There is a maze with multiple paths. Your child will design and code a robot that can autonomously find its way out of the maze. After the first try, the robot should also remember the path it took to get out of the maze.

Spider Bot

Problem Statement: Have you seen a spider crawling? In this program, your child will make a spider robot and learn the complex servo motor movement to get the robot moving and detecting objects.

Self-Balancing Robot

Problem Statement: Have you seen a hoverboard before? It moves according to the rider’s movements and balances itself. In this holiday program, you will build and code a self balancing robot that can balance itself in upright position even when external force is applied to the it.

Program Level: Advanced

Program suited for: Age 14 & above

Prerequisite: Level 6

Duration: 2 days

The Safe House

Problem Statement: Have you seen a house with security alarms that can be turned off with key codes? In this holiday program, you will design, build and code the new secure house for a VIP using different types of sensors, virtual locks and key codes.

Program Level: Advanced

Program suited for: Age 10 & above

Prerequisite: Level 6

Duration: 2 days

Timings: 9.30 am – 3.00 pm

Robo Wars

Problem Statement: Build a robot to function like a sumo wrestler. The robot has to first stay inside a wrestling arena. Then, it has to find another opponent (robot) inside the arena and try to push them out. The last remaining robot in the arena will be the winner.

Program Level: Intermediate

Program suited for Grade 1 – Grade 8

Prerequisite: Level 1

Duration: 7-8 hours

Frequency: One hour per week for one school term

Program Level: Intermediate

Program suited for Age 7 & above

Duration: 2 days

Timings: 9.30 am – 2:30 pm

Robotic Arm Senior

Problem Statement: In big industries, robots are used to lift heavy objects that humans cannot build. In this holiday program, you will build your own miniature version of the robotic that can pick up things and drop them in a different location autonomously using C++/Java/Python. The robot will have 4 axes of control to pick up and drop things.

Program Level: Intermediate

Program suited for: Age 7 & above

Duration: 2 days

Prerequisite: Level 4

Timings: 9.30 am – 3.00 pm

Mining Robot

Problem Statement:
Ever fascinated by a Mining Truck before? What if you want to make one for yourself? For these holidays, let’s build one. This will be an arena-based project where you will build a robot with an attached trunk for loading and unloading. The robot will follow the path in the arena which will have a few stops dedicated to loading and unloading. Also, you can gain points while you do this. Collect maximum points to be the WINNER.

Program Level: Intermediate

Program suited for: Age 7 & above

Duration: 2 days

Prerequisite: Level 4

Timings: 9.30 am – 3.00 pm
